Full-Stack Product Developer · STEAM Trainer

I build platforms that simplify work. And teach the technology that makes them run.

I’m Andrei Calapod: full-stack developer, UX/UI designer and STEAM trainer. I design custom web applications, management platforms and human-supervised AI workflows — and bring robotics, coding and artificial intelligence to classrooms, schools and universities.

They only look like two different jobs. When I develop, I design software that guides its users: explicit states, built-in guides, visible flows. When I teach, I have students and teachers build real technology. The method is the same: making complex things simple.

selected work

Three platforms, three processes put back in order

Not demos: production systems, used every day. For each one I explain the problem, the decisions and how it actually works.

Territorial map of the platform showing schools across central Italy, per-city seat counters and an assignment completion rate of 94 percent.

management platform

Coordinating hundreds of internships without losing the thread

Problem
Hundreds of internships, dozens of partner schools and three roles to coordinate with generic tools.
Solution
A platform with explicit states, a territorial map, cohort calendars and automatic checks on critical issues.
  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • JavaScript
  • Interactive cartography (ISTAT / Natural Earth data)
Helpdesk control panel showing the service diagram — a student's question goes through five checks and reaches one of three outcomes — resolved, from the documents, or referred to the office.

human-supervised ai

An AI helpdesk that only answers when it can prove it

Problem
The same questions every day, answers buried in long regulations — and generic AI cannot be trusted with enrolment, exams and deadlines.
Solution
An assistant that cites only official documents, verifies numbers, goes through human approval and suspends answers when a document changes.
  • Python · FastAPI
  • Retrieval over official documents (RAG)
  • Source and number verification pipeline
  • Document re-check scheduler
Destinations screen of the platform — for one piece of content, toggles select the website journal and portfolio, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Stories; the summary bar says it will be published in six places.

operations + ai ecosystem

From a message on site to a published post

Problem
Requests born on construction sites among photos, voice notes and chats — and lost; online communication stealing time from production.
Solution
An ecosystem that turns field messages into tickets and tasks, manages quotations and documents, and publishes to six channels from one editorial flow with supervised AI.
  • Python (API) · JavaScript
  • Telegram integration (bot)
  • Voice transcription and AI for multi-channel content
  • Document signing with personal links

how I work

A clear path, from idea to production

Every project follows the same thread. No phase gets skipped: what I design, I build; what I build, I maintain.

  1. Analysis

I learn the real process, not the one on paper.

  2. UX/UI

Architecture, flows and interfaces before code.

  3. Development

Full-stack, with data, roles and permissions done right.

  4. AI

Only where it helps, always with human oversight.

  5. Testing

With the people who will actually use the system.

  6. Deployment

Servers, backups, DNS: I take care of it.

  7. Maintenance

Release day is a beginning, not an end.

steam & education

Technology is learned by building

Since 2018 I have designed and led STEAM programmes for schools, teachers and universities: educational robotics, coding, 3D printing, AR/VR and artificial intelligence in the classroom. With active methodologies and one simple principle: you learn by making — and by understanding what you make.

Kindergarten and primary

Polly the Robotic Bee

A narrative educational-robotics pathway for young children: missions, maps and first algorithms guiding small robot bees.

Primary school

The Wild Robot

From the novel to robotics: nature, emotions and machines that learn — through reading, building and programming.

Lower-secondary

AR/VR Historical Detectives

Historical investigations with augmented and virtual reality: students reconstruct places and events, then tell their story.

Whether you have a process to digitise, a product idea or a training programme to build, we start with a concrete, no-strings conversation.
